Getting around Cancun - Taxis - Buses - Car Rentals

Cancun has great public transportation. The hotel zone is basically one street called Blvd. Kukulcan and it runs from Km 1 to Km 19 so in total that is about 12 miles long. Blvd. Kukulcan is shaped like a number 7 and the The Caribbean side is km 8.5 through 19, and km 1 through km 8.5 is the bay side. The buses run 24/7 and every few minutes and cost 6.4 pesos or about 65 cents. The buses also go downtown and can drop you off by Wal-Mart or Sam’s Club.

For the best deals on cancun car rentals try using E-Z Rent a Car or Ace Rent a Car. They both have car rentals from $10 per day. Both EZ and Ace use Executive Car rental in Cancun as their affliate partner, so no matter which one you book through, you actually will pick up and rent car from Executive. So be sure to check both places for the best rates. Also no credit card is needed to reserve a car, so I suggest you reserve a car immediately and check back often to see if rates went down. If rates go down cancel your original reservation and make a new one. Be advised liability insurance is mandatory with a car rental in Mexico at a cost of $11 per day.
