I had the opportunity to stay at this property in May 08 and my first thoughts were WOW! Perfect location, perfect beach, perfect view, perfect condo unit. I honestly don’t think that there is any better in Cancun.
When I arrived, the first place I head to is the balcony. This property is a direct Oceanfront View with no obstructions. Look down and you see the large infinity pool, look straight out and you see the sand and then the ocean and then look to the left and you can see vacationers parasailing and many miles of white sand beach.
Walking down to the pool, my first view was the picture below. There were plenty of chairs and umbrellas (if the sun gets to hot for you) for everyone. The pool had its shallow parts for small children and overall great for families.
Do you notice the light blue in this picture in the pool? The water is probably 6 inches deep that you can lay in and look over the ledge and watch the ocean and get memorized, how more relaxing can you get?
From my room, I woke up to the view of the lagoon.
The unit was beautiful, perfect Caribbean furnishings, large rooms and have all the amenities that you deserve. The property was always clean and the staff was always friendly. The property is walking distance to numerous restaurants, shopping centers and night clubs which we took advantage of.
I had such a great time that I came home and booked my next vacation with the Grossberg family.
We arrived the day after christmas and stayed until after New Years. I had not been to Cancun before and was very pleasantly surprised. The condos we had were wonderful. They were very clean, well stocked, although I must say one was lacking in basics, like salt and pepper, dishwasher soap.
The staff at Portofino were wonderful, helpful, and felt very secure. The pool was fabulous, as was the beach. Both were extraordinarily clean, and beautiful. Enjoyed the concession stand the first few days, but it later disappeared? Not sure why. The weather was faultless.
The views from all rooms were wonderful. The airport shuttle was efficient and the airport well organized.
All and all, a very good time was had by all.
We will return.

Beautiful ocean view from living room and large balcony. Lagoon view from 2 of 3 bedrooms. Clean and everything worked. Walking distance to many good restaurants. Pool area clean. Kid friendly. Small snack bar there with
reasonable soft drinks,beer,snacks.
Massage therapist there (pool side)~$25 for 1/2 hour. People are friendly and helpful. Security at the condo is excellent.
It’s what you want for a Caribbean vacation.
I would go back in a heart beat.
We just spent 8 fabulous days in this beautiful condo on the 18th floor. We had 4 bedrooms and all had wonderful views of the ocean and lagoon. The condo was imaculate and very well stocked. When we arrived Alex was there to greet us and had the staff help us with our luggage and offered to help with anything we would need during our stay.
Being on the 18th floor was very nice because of all the beautiful views but it was a little difficult to sit and relax on the terrace because it was so windy.
The pool area was very clean and we had enough lounge chairs to accomodate all 10 of us. The snack bar was great because you could have a nice cold beer for a little more than one dollar.
The beach was also beautiful, you really had to be careful were to swim because there were rocks in the water. Your best bet is to take a walk down passed tower number one and there is a big open area with no rocks. ( 5 minutes away)
Portofino has the best location because is close to many restaurants and there are two convenience stores right outside the building which was great to pick up necessary things like milk, bread, snacks and water.
The spa offered masages but you could have one at pool side if you preffered. they were very profesional and it was very reasonable, about $40 dollars for a one hour massage.
Overall I would definetly recommend this property because you have all the amenities you need within walking distance and the condos are very well kept, the pool and beach were beautiful and the weather was perfect. We hope to be able to stay there again next year.

We stayed February 21-27, 2009. There were 4 couples and this place was perfect. Everyone had large bedrooms and baths with plasma TV’s but there was also a large area for us to congregate. We could have peace and quiet in our room or come out to the living area to hang out. Views were great and location is fantastic as well. Jim’s service was excellent and he did everything he could do to make our stay memorable.
We spent 9 Nights at this Condo and I have to say that it was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Beyond the views of the beach and gulf, the rooms we very large with plenty of room for everyone (8 of us) and the balcony’s were amazing. The Maids quarters were a great place for extra guests and we were close to everything and walking distance to all the nice restaurants and shopping. The poolside service was excellent but the beach service by Miguel was amazing. Little Miguel took care of us from day one and was always there for us 100%. If you are on the beach and looking for a Drink or something to eat, look for Miguel and tell him Mr. Bobby said to take care of you. Security is excellent and we felt safe the entire time and not once did we have a time where we felt unsafe. Security guards on the property 24/7 and they are extremely professional and courteous. No matter what I needed, Jim and the staff did everything they could to make sure I was 100% satisfied. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! I will definitely be back.
We loved Cancun and this condo was the perfect home-base to all of our activities. The location couldn’t have been better and the condo itself was very well appointed. The views from the balconies were amazing (especially the lagoon view at night when you could see the ships that were all lit up with evening revellers). We’d spend our days going to places like Chichen Itza, snorkeling or taking ATVs through the desert/jungle and we all looked forward to opening the sliding glass door that leads to the ocean-view balcony to let the ocean breezes in. It was the perfect end to tiring days. We walked to dinner at great restaurants most nights and when we just wanted to unwind, we’d cook in the beautiful kitchen. We loved everything about this condo.
I just got back from Cancun on Friday and it was magical! I enjoyed more than any where I have ever been. First of all everyone we came in contact with was super nice. Next the condo which was 1804 was more than I could have asked for, marble and granite everything. The kitchen was nicer than my own! The bedrooms were wonderful and the view was breathtaking! There is no need to feel unsecure, there is security at every possible entry. The will not even elet someone off the beach to use the bathroom. That was a good sign to me. As soon as you needed something there were three people right there helping you. I told my husband and my girlfriend who were there with me that right smack in the middle, against the pool wall, facing the ocean is my most favorite place in the world. Looking out at the ocean was so peaceful and I wish I could be there every day. We did a lot of relaxing at the pool and swimming in the ocean. We also had lunch at the “snack bar” on most afternoons. All in all our trip was a success! We will be back next year for two weeks!
We took a mother daughter spring break trip and stayed in this condo in April. With all the negative publicity about Mexico going on at the time, I have to say that NOT ONCE did we feel unsafe anywhere in Cancun! The security at the condo itself was excellent…they were on top of things 24/7. It was nice to be able to walk out your door and have everything at your fingertips…from grocery and restaurants to the night clubs. The condo is in great shape and it was also nice to have a washer/dryer to take care of all the beach towels! We were not able to take advantage of the beautiful patio overlooking the water due to the high winds during our visit. But everything else was great! I would definitely recommend this condo.
